  1. Expect a lot of pain and bruising

Before liposuction, the plastic surgeon injects tumescent solution for numbing and to limit bleeding. This helps with pain control after surgery and the pain is usually tolerable with mild painkillers after the operation. As for bruising, this is unavoidable. But the extent depends on the technique used and the individuals propensity to bleed.  Vaser liposuction use ultrasound to break down fat instead of force, which helps to minimize disruption of blood vessels and less bruising is expected. If you tend to bruise easily or takes blood thinners, then you will expect to bruise more after liposuction.

  1. Liposuction helps with weight loss

Liposuction is ideal for people seeking contouring to remove stubborn pockets of fat that remains despite a healthy lifestyle and diet, like “love handles” and “saddle bags”. For weight loss, your best bet is to switch to a healthy diet, exercise or bariatric surgery.

  2. Wear connective tissues
  3. Loose skin

It is true that once the fat cells are removed, it is unlikely new fat cells will sprout again at the same site. Liposuction will not remove all the fat cells though, and any existing fat cells can still fill themselves with fat and expand, adding inches again. It is best to make a commitment to maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet to preserve the results after liposuction.
